Wordpress Plug-In
I’m not sure how many of my readers, (all two of you!) use wordpress. I assume if you use a wordpress self hosted site, (not hosted on wordpress) then you also use an array of plug ins. I have a stash full of plug-ins I have downloaded for free, and utilize them to do different things on my blog, to give it more features and make it more user friendly for the reader. One of the reasons I do not host this blog on wordpress.com is because you are limited to being able to use plug-ins to the ones that install as standard, and also you cannot use premium themes. But after an unwelcome commenters this week, filling his comments with hate, (all the time while professing to be a Christian of course!) I actually paid a small sum to filter out both unwanted commenters and also handle spam much more affectively. It is called “Comment Guard” and I haven’t yet figured out how to tweak all of its functions only installing it last night, but it seems to do the job quite affectively. Many Christian bloggers get hecklers that become problematic, especially Reformed bloggers, in my experience. The reformed faith like little else brings attacks out of the wood work. However this plug-in, enables that commenters (for instance) if he chooses to comment again, I don’t even see it in my spam, it will be straight away deleted, without going into the moderation queue as if he had never spoken. Anyone who has ever had a persistent heckler I am sure would find this plug-in uself, and it does work on other blogging platforms besides wordpress too, though you would have to figure out if it would work for you. But it is called Comment Guard, and is available for around $30
