We Should Not Choose Bondage When Liberty Coist Them So Much
The Lord has led captivity captive, and made lords slaves. What should we do less than resolve, first, since the Lord has granted us liberty, to Labour to be sensible of it, and take notice of it. For we are alike to a man newly awakened out of a dream, or like a man that has long been in the iron's who, after they have been taken off and he redeemed, he feels not his liberty, but thinks the irons are on him still. So it is with us. We do not feel our liberty; therefore it were good for us to study to know the bounds of our liberty wherewitth Christ hath set us free, and then again to labour earnestly that we be no more entangled with the yoke of bondage.
