That love which naturally parents bear to their children ought in equity to breed in children a love to their parents. For love deserves love, and most unworthy are they to be loved who cannot love in return. The love of parents above all others is to be answered with love on the children’s part, to the uttermost of their power, because it is free, great, and constant.
Besides there is a necessity of love in children to their parents, lest for lack thereof, their subjection (which above all ought to be most free) should turn into slavish servitude.

One Response to “Love Between Parent and Child”

Staff UNITED STATES February 4, 2010

When ever and where Jesus refered to the love it was the only love which was Agape and he showed us the way by obeying His mother….

The word says in Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

and commandment is to honor thy father and mother.. without any condition……What if they are abusive, what if they are just bad parents? There is no arguments about it the command, it’s strait unconditional in both parts.

Jesus loved us when we were least deserving. We can never repay HIm back does that mean He loves us less….Agape again….
